Janette
Hashemi was raised on Sydney's north shore and schooled
at St. Ives primary and high schools. She moved to the beautiful
Sunshine Coast in 1995.
Janette
graduated from Hawkesbury Agricultural College in 1980 with
distinctions in management, marketing and utilization of
horticultural products. She has spent 15 years working in
sales and marketing of horticultural and agricultural products
for multinational companies including Schering Agric. Chemicals,
Lanes Roche Maag and Bayer Australia.
She
is an independent researcher, writer and presenter of "Global
Warming and its Consequences" prior to the issue becoming
popular.
Janette
has been studying science journals for 20 years. She founded
and coordinates the Hinterland Science Discussion Group,
comprising of 15 working and retired scientists, discussing
issues including Bird Flu, global warming and genetic engineering.
She
is particularly interested in community justice and equity,
organizing and coordinating the Social Issues Forum in 2006
and 2007 for the Sunshine Coast's Multicultural Festuri.
The Social Issues Forum explores and raises social justice
issues at an academic level.
Janette
is also passionate about community harmony and dialogue,
co-founding and coordinating the Sunshine Coast Interfaith
Network since 2002. She has organized around 30 forums to
promote awareness and communication between different religious
groups.
Janette
has studied physics, communication, sales and floristry
at certificate level. She offers the community in Fairfax
her life experience in scientific, social justice, agricultural
and religious dialogue fields.
